Specifying table bases for commercial interiors
Written for the people who put table bases into a drawing package rather than a shopping basket. Dimensions, proportion rules, material selection by environment, and a specification clause you can paste straight into a schedule.
Selecting by environment
The environment decides the material long before aesthetics do. This is the matrix we work from.

Proportion: the rule that is not in any datasheet
Capacity is rarely the constraint. Proportion almost always is.
Manufacturers quote table bases in kilograms because it is easy to measure. It is also close to useless at design stage, because you are not specifying a load — you are specifying a top diameter. So we quote both, and we tell you where the practical limit sits rather than where the structural one does.
Across the fabricated ranges the structural limit is well beyond the sizes below. The limit that matters is visual: past roughly 90 cm the top begins to overhang far enough that the table reads as unbalanced, even while it remains perfectly stable. A diner leaning on the rim will feel it before an engineer measures it.

The scalable column is the one to read first. Cast iron and composite are produced from fixed moulds and cannot be enlarged for a bigger top. The other four are fabricated, so the footprint is built to suit the top you specify. If your schedule contains tops above 80 cm, that column has already eliminated two ranges.

If a scheme mixes dining and bar height in the same room, note that the same model can be produced at both heights across five of the six ranges — the column changes, the base and finish stay identical, so the two settings read as one family rather than two purchases.

Specify powder coat colours by RAL code rather than by name. Wood finishes are matched against a physical sample supplied with the order, not a photograph — screen calibration makes remote timber matching unreliable, and we would rather ask for a sample than deliver a tone you did not expect.

Drawings and CAD files
Where we are, stated plainly.
We are building a downloadable CAD library and it is not finished. Rather than publish an incomplete list, we issue drawings on request: tell us the model references you are working with and we will send dimensioned drawings for those models, usually within one working day. If you need a format we do not yet hold for a given model, say so — that request moves it up the queue.
Registered users also have access to protected downloads in the catalogue area. Registration is free and exists so that we know who is specifying our products, not to gate information behind a sales process.
Bespoke and OEM production
From 15 units.
Most manufacturers set custom production minimums in the hundreds, which puts bespoke work out of reach for a single-site project. Ours is 15 units. A designer fitting out one restaurant with forty covers can have a base made to their drawing rather than choosing the closest thing in a catalogue.
Send a sketch, a CAD file, or a reference photograph with the top size and quantity, and we will come back with feasibility, price and lead time. Where a design will not work — a footprint too small for the top, a weld detail that will fatigue, a finish that will not hold on that substrate — we will say so at quotation stage rather than after installation.
Testing and compliance
Current status, not a claim.
Furniture carries no CE marking obligation in the EU, so no such mark exists for table bases. The relevant reference for our sector is EN 15372 — Furniture: strength, durability and safety, requirements for non-domestic tables, which covers static load, fatigue, impact and stability at contract severity levels.
We are currently taking representative models from each material family through that testing. It is in progress and not complete. If your project requires a test report at tender stage, contact us and we will tell you exactly which ranges are covered at that point — we would rather lose a tender than supply against a certificate we do not hold.
