Composite table bases: one specification, produced at volume

The composite range is moulded rather than fabricated, and that single fact explains everything else about it. There is one height, one footprint, one colour and one top size. Nothing is configurable. In exchange you get the two things volume buyers actually need: a lower unit cost, and units that are genuinely identical to one another.

The material is coloured through rather than painted. A scratch on a powder-coated base reveals the metal underneath and needs touching up; a scratch on a composite base reveals more of the same black. On a food court floor being cleaned twice a day, that difference shows within the first year.

Where composite works best

• Multi-site rollouts — chains fitting out twenty locations to one specification, where variation between deliveries is the enemy.
• Canteens and food courts — heavy use, frequent cleaning, low tolerance for maintenance.
• Budget-led projects — where the base has to work but is not part of the design story.
• Cafeterias and staff restaurants — high table counts, small tops, standard heights throughout.

What composite does not do

We would rather be direct about this than deal with it at order stage:

• No bar or custom heights. The mould produces one height, 71.5 cm. There is no poseur version of this range.
• No size changes. The footprint is fixed and cannot be scaled to a larger top.
• No colour options. Black only. The material is not painted, so there is nothing to change.
• Smaller tops. Up to 60 cm, 70 cm at a push — noticeably less than the 80 cm the other ranges carry.

Specifying a composite base

If composite is not the right fit

If your project needs bar height, a top larger than 60 cm, or a colour other than black, this is not the range for it. Look at metal, which is fabricated to order and available from stock in ten days. Composite earns its place on price and repeatability, not flexibility.
